The Mahoning Valley Scrappers toppled Williamsport 15-8 in Saturday Night action.

Williamsport got out to a quick 2-0 lead when Josue Urdaneta homered in the first inning.

Urdaneta was 3-for-5 in the game.

For Mahoning Valley, Zach Dezenzo hit a solo home run in the second to start what would be an eight-run inning for the Scrappers. Dezenzo also had an RBI double that inning as his club was able to bat around.

The Scrappers' cleanup hitter finished the evening 3-for-5.

The Crosscutters kept battling back, inching forward, but Mahoning Valley always had an answer.

As big as the home run ball is in today's game, the Scrappers hit three bombs, one from Dezenzo, Buck Anderson, and Brian Kalmer.

Mahoning Valley snapped its nine-game losing streak and got back above the .500 mark.

Ricky Mineo got the win in relief, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings.

Nick Palumbo was tagged with the loss after giving up eight runs, two of the earned after just 1.2 innings.

The Scrappers play Trenton next, Tuesday, June 28, on the road.
