W&J rolls past Westminster to hand Titans its’ first loss

Washington & Jefferson took care of business against Westminster in women’s basketball action Tuesday night, winning 75-37.


The Titans got off to a hot start, going up 10-0 early in the first quarter. After the President’s claws its way back, the Westminster lead was 16-13 after the first ten minutes.


W&J took firm control of the game in the second, outscoring the Titans 15-4.


From there, it only got worse for Coach Scott’s squad.


Getting outscored by W&J 29-9 in the third frame all but put the game out of its reach.


Westminster shot a less-than-impressive 33.3% from the field and turned the ball over 24 times.


Lindsay Bell led the scoring effort for Westminster with a game-high 18 points.


Adalynn Cherry had 14 points to lead Washington & Jefferson in scoring.


The Titans will look to bounce back with  its upcoming matchup with Pitt-Greensburg next Tuesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. from Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
